[ENGLISH TRANSLATIO] KIM NAM GIL INTO THE WILD PHOTOBOOK
Due to my intense curiosity about this book "Into the wild" I decided to make my own risky translation of some of the book's contents. I just translated those parts which I clearly comprehend based on the translator machines (take note the machine'S) that I used. I did not dare to translate those parts which are full of poetic contents, I'm afraid that I might ruin the essence and the whole thought that our dear KNG put on to those lines and paragraphs...
By the way, the only reason why I was able make some interpretation is because of the Chinese translation that I found in Kim Nam Gil Baidu, which was translated by daphne and posted by Boshao17. (all credits goes to them) I am not a Korean nor a Chinese, I'm not also that literate with Chinese writings, as I have said, I just used several translators online to at least come up with a bit comprehensive rendition of the book. So everything that was written here are just based on my own understandings. I also want to thank bellva of Kim Nam Gil community Livejournal for perfectly translating some parts of the book. (actually she's my inspiration in doing this whole elucidation thing). I also didn't get the chance to grab a copy of the book. How come I would be able to, when it was being sold out during the first week of it's release. :(
For me, spending some hour to translate Kim Nam Gil's book "Into the wild" is such a wise use of time. Even though it took half of the day for me to translate just a single part, it's all worth it because as I go over and read those words, I felt like I'm totally getting to know our dear daddy very well. I was able to learn from his stories and of course be fascinated by his ingenuity.
For now, there were only 4 parts translated. I'll be updating this page as soon I got some free time. I'll be also posting here some of bellva's translation from KNGLJ as soon as I got a permission from her.
[066] VALENTINES DAY
One of the largest hot springs in Japan is the Gero Onsen spa.
We finished filming, just as the day of February 14.
For some people, it is Spring festival
For some, Valentines Day
For the women, ”Oh, it is the men gives chocolate to women day.”
Damn it, this is a very sad case for me, isn’t it?
[070] NOT GAINING WEIGHT
7 years ago, a traffic accident led me to a knee surgery.
Because it’s quite a big surgery, I have to stay at the hospital for 6 months.
Being in the hospital for 6 months, I realized that I already observed the 4 season change.
That year, I was qualified as one of the MBC’s male talent.
In 2003, many things happened.
Since then, I could not gain weight again.
Who would think that after performing a major surgery it was very difficult to gain weight again.
After the actual surgery, my body will no longer change to its original the same as before.
Regardless how I eat, I still cannot gain weight.
The reason is the invariable weight.
It’s not the surgical complications.
I used to live with depression and anxiety as an actor.
Not being able to gain weight is a very natural matter.
I should not forget the path that I would probably take.
Just like frequently pointing to the same direction as body weight.
To become an actor who never vacillate to his dreams.
No matter how they entice me as an actor who is “not being able to gain weight”.
[074] PASSPORT NUMBER
7:00 am I absorbed some rest from the train when travelling to the Eastern United States.
Inside the train was a chaos. 3, 4 policemen were confirming the passport to the passenger s one by one.
And then, it’s my turn. They opened an eye to confirm my physical condition at the moment. It seems like a movie, I think. I slowly get up; they asked me to let them see my passport. I temporarily daze. I left my passport in the house of my family friend. Why on the land of United States, passport is the only way to prove my identity in order for me to be able to stay. Although it is embarrassing, I still have to tell them that I did not bring my passport. They called me to write down my name. I wrote down my name in the paper correctly. This, I am confident that I can write well. Then afterwards, they go somewhere to make a phone call. However, there’s no place to confirm my name. I would not say so, they called again to confirm. I was innocent, my force is advocating. One of the most evil guy look was threatening me, saying that if don’t have the passport; I will be prison in jail for one month. I was suddenly frightened; I wanted to call my friend. But he took my phone and put it into his pocket. They said that until my identity was not yet proved, I am not allowed to talk to anybody. It seems like a spy movie. Finally, I have gotten off the train. Even all the policemen have gone. In the police station, I called a friend of mine to hand over my passport number s to prove my status. In fact, on the train, although I used my name and date of birth to prove my identity, when entering the United States, there will be a filthy guy who will make mistakes in writing my name. In other words, they are changing my name.

[082] THE KARAOKE ROOM WHERE I GO ALONE
I do not like to be hampered
When I want to be alone
Family members at home will worry
They don’t find me with my friends
I did not say to anybody
I’m going to a Karaoke room
I’ll spend 20,000 Yuan
And sing until my vocal chord become dumb.
Many times
Compared to the latest songs, singing old songs are preferably suited for my taste.
Compared to staring at the lyrics, having eyes closed can produce more feelings
That is my taste.
